GOD'S HAVENS FOR CHILDREN (GHFC) is a non-denominational Christian organization created to establish and maintain refuge homes for all at risk children (with an emphasis on sexually abused, molested, and exploited children). GHFC is committed to locating and certifying appropriate homes for needy and difficult-to-place children and believes that a thorough,mutual selection process is critical to this goal.

In an effort to provide homes for Foster Children, GHFC actively recruits, screens, trains and supervises qualified adults to serve as GHFC Certified Foster Parents.  Foster Parents provide a safe and loving home for local children and teens referred to GHFC by San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties.

GHFC Foster Family Agency and Certified Foster Parent Information:

• GHFC Certified Foster Parents provide a supportive and stable family environment for children who cannot live with their birth parents until problems are resolved and reunifcation is possible.

• Children referred for foster care range in age from newborn infants to teens – some stay for just a few days or weeks, others stay for longer periods of time (in some cases, several years).

• GHFC FFA staff provides excellent training and ongoing support to help prepare foster parents to care for foster children. 

• GHFC Certified Foster Parents receive a monthly tax-free reimbursement to help feed, clothe and meet the material needs of the children placed in their care.
